I finally gotten round doing this review on I heart Cosmetics soapwort cream cleanser.. I've been using this for the past 1.5 weeks and look how much I've used! Hee..~
One of the things to note is that I’m terribly sensitive, especially to Optiphen/Optiphen plus. And this product does contain Optiphen plus as a preservative. I’m not going to lie and say it doesn’t sting when I use it.. BUT if you do not leave it on for a long time.. I will say its bearable. AND I bought this knowing that it contains Optiphen plus as a preservative.
With this aside, lets get down to the review.. Firstly, it’s amazing for a cream cleanser.. It feels so luxurious on skin. And smells quite yummy in a natural/earthy way.
I use it to remove my makeup.. Since some days, I would only put on a light layer of foundation and some blush.. I will say it does an amazing job of removing everything. On the days when I do wear sunblock (I don’t skip sunblock on purpose. REALLY! =P), it still does a good job of removing almost everything and unclogging my pores. However, I would also use Classy Minerals/MMBB’s AHA exfo cleanser to ensure everything is removed.
To note, I always double cleanse. It’s hardwired into my genes. I’m a clean freak.. I can’t help it but to double cleanse even though my skin feels clean.
After washing off, it doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue or anything. It doesn’t contain a lot of ingredients to it (hurray for that as I strongly advocate less is more!) and its lovingly made by our geminisc. =P
Would I repurchase? I’m still hold out on that. So far, it’s one of the best makeup removal product I have on hand. It doesn’t dry me out, smells amazing, feels oh so good.. What more can I ask for? Okay, I could ask for it to be Optiphen free I guess. LOL~ I doubt its really possible at this point in time. But the stinging sensation is somewhat uncomfortable even though bearable.
So that’s it.. I shall be nice and leave a teeny bit for Frond/Jo to sample. Heee.. For those interested (and I strongly you suggest to try it), she’s having her birthday sale now! Cream cleansers are sold for only USD$8.50! Click yourselves one!
Sorry about the side post about my hair.. Let me get back on track on my posts..
So I think I’m not the only one who finds white eyeliners too stark.. H was curious with what I call a beige eyeliner.. I gotten this Majolica Majorca jewelling pencil just before I left Singapore.
This will not show up much on skin.. However, it is a rosey shimmerish beige (I know I’m really terrible at colour description) so here is the best swatch photo I have..
All it does is brighten your eyes, it helps to make you look slightly less sleepy. It isn’t going to be as good as using a white liner. However, if you want it subtly, a beige liner is the way to go.
I gotten it for SGD$14.50 at my local Watson store. If you are not in Asia, you could order it from Adam Beauty for US$8.50. Majolica Majorca is one of my favourite drugstore brands. They do have quality products at an affordable price.
p.s. Sorry H! It took me so long to get this up. =X
I know that I'm a little late in reviewing my lip smacks BUT I finally finish trying out all of them. My favourites are definitely Monroe a Go Go, Mega Mauve and Pep Pink.
I’m quite bad in giving reviews.. I based my order on TiffanyD’s review (and she has amazing swatches!). However, do keep in mind that all of us have different skintones and our favourites could be very different. TiffanyD didn’t like Mega Mauve but it works extremely well for me. Although I do agree with her that Monroe a Go Go is such a pretty shade. So go figure!
I thought that I’ve out grown the glossy finish of lipglosses but the lip smacks complete changed my mind! I do not quite like the heavy texture of MAC lipglasses but I still buy them for their shades. However, they usually just sit around in my vanity drawers.
I’ve done a couple of looks recently with them.. Browse through my holiday FoTDs if you are interested. The good news is Coastal Scents’ Friday weekend sale is now on.. 16% off storewide using the code PEACE.
I’ve already ordered more.. Courtesy of the Hubs! LOL~ And I just might swap away all of MAC lipglass!
We went out today yesterday (Saturday!) to look for a kids cafe... but we ended up going to
Glenelg (a beach side town). LOL! However, I'm not here to talk about
my day but to review on BRTC Jasmin Water BB cream!
To be fair, I must say this is my first try on BRTC's BB cream. I’ve tried a few brands of BB cream and I must say.. BRTC isn’t really on top of my list.
Look at the above photo, I applied it only for less than 30 minutes but look at my nose, it is so shiny! And my skin is a little on the dry side at the moment..
On the good side, it does provide adequate coverage and it’s texture feels next to nothing on my skin. However, I realised that it does make me look a little dull. This might be better for someone with a slightly darker skin tone..
It sort of is an in between Skinfood and Etude House. I prefer Etude House for the light weight texture and light coverage. While Skinfood, for the heavier coverage. BUT BB creams aren’t really my thing, so I can’t really give a fair review on it. I hope this helps.. =X
And here’s a close up of my eye make up, decided to use my TSS grab bag.. =D

To be frank, I was a little hesitant on trying/using silica coz of the
rumours flying around. However, fr0nd/Jo encouraged me and said it was
ok to mix with other stuff. So she sent me some which I’m really
thankful coz the shine on my face is sort of unbearable to look at.
To
prove this.. This is a photo I taken wearing my Meow foundation mix w/o
silica. Of course, its after a few hours (or else how am I going to
prove it works right?)
And this is with silica.. and taken few hours later! AMAZING!
I only added about 10% to the amount of foundation I had in the jar. It could be drying for some. So watch how much you put in. That’s it! My quick break from essay writing is over! Back to it!
I'm sure that you do not want to hear about SN lipglosses anymore. They're okay. Colours are nudish.. Nothing much to rave about. BUT I must rave about this!
This stuff is gooooooood! Even though its suppose to be heavy duty, it feels really light on skin. I was suffering from dry itchy skin and this helped greatly. Instantly the itchies went away and my skin felt really good.
I’ve also used it on my DD and it works on her dry patches. The best part is its not scented which means I can use it safely on my girl……and my face! The only scent I get from this is the nutty unrefined shea butter smell. Real yum in my opinion. Hehehe! =D
This is something you need to have in your arsenal.. For the times when your skin needs a little rescuing or when you just need an unscented moisturiser. I’m definitely going to get more backups for this. It’s such a tiny jar coz the jar is double vacuumed. It’s also pricey. $8.95 for 2 oz!
Go grab a jar to try if you’re suffering from itchy dry skin!
LT was asking about my MM palette.. This is the best palette I’ve own..
In terms of price, pigmentation, texture. It’s really pigmented.. I use
it without any eye primer and it lasted without creasing. The
eyeshadows applies really smoothly.
I'm going to try to get the other new one. So I’m going to go around Singapore to hunt for it! It costs slightly more than buying from Taiwan. But since, getting from Taiwan is out of the question at the moment. $25.90 isn’t that bad for an awesome palette. =D
Nekkid face alert! (Skin is better but still crappish!)
I’ve stayed up late for the last few couple of nights rushing my essay.. And
my dark circles were starting to show.. Since Dayna blogged about creating
apricot dreamzzz for her DD when she wasn’t having enough sleep.. I decided to
try it out.
It doesn’t give heavy coverage.. but one thing for sure.. Immediately I was looking more awake than I ever could be after sleeping at 3 am and waking up at 7.30 am.
All I did was apply it on my undereyes and lids with a concealer brush. I was really pleased with the results… I’ve been using it as a base for my eyeshadows but now I can use it as a concealer too!
It’s really creamy.. and does a wonderful job of waking up those sleepy eyes. If you need slightly more coverage.. Dust a little foundation over it.. I think it will be wonderful if you dab a little of eyecream first to plump up the skin. So it won’t sink into your fine lines..
So that’s it.. My mini review for the day. I’m exhausted and planning to head to bed early tonight. Hopefully my circles will go away soon!
My skin has been terrible lately.. I think my horrible diet has taken a
toll on it. Eeps.. Anyways.. Bad skin aside. Let’s get started..
I would like to show off my last brow powder testing.. This is better than black.. It really did look a little dark for me in the baggie.. but it came out pretty alright.
